why she doesn't, I know not, still
when it comes to diet...
oh! what to tell?
She kisses me 'good night' with
reassuring smile, I said, 'Sweet dreams, mom'
So sweet it was, yet....
(I could see) her face fell
These 'sweet' worries she carries
wring her heart and line her face
wet her eyes she tries to hide
but not so well
Her days are filled by 'sweet talks' & pills
yellow, blue, green and pink
BD-OD-TID and not to forget, the needles
all for me
oh! what the hell..
O yes, she makes fuss too (far too much)
not about my low scores or grades in semesters
but about my 'high' score....
on glucometer
My sweet mom, O God! why
she has to have these sweet worries
cause- I am 'so sweet', rather- 'too sweet'
such 'sweet' really worries
such 'sweet' really worries
Worry not mom, I am His child too
He will some day
break this 'sweet' spell..
He will some day
break this 'sweet' spell..
Amen
This little poem is inspired by a mother, Mrs Rekha , whose worry is that both her children are too sweet...Sweet as they are, they are diabetic too. Its devastating for a mother to see her children suffer at such a tender age. But this strong mother has shown the nerve & courage in the face of this challenge and is taking good care of them. I pray to God to take care of this brave little mother and her sweet- sweet children.....
